Mr. Jarvis began his legal career in Norfolk, Virginia where he practiced insurance and maritime defense until 1981.  At that time, he joined the legal department of Johns Manville Corporation, where he supervised Manville's defense of personal-injury asbestos litigation for the southern United States.  He returned to private practice in 1984.

Since 1984, he has been responsible for complex litigation involving construction defect and major personal injury and property damage claims.  His practice focuses on construction defects law suits against general contractors, developers, subcontractors and material suppliers in addition to products liability, fire cause and origin, medical products liability, toxic tort and environmental litigation.  Furthermore, he has worked as a mediator to resolve construction defect matters.  

In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Jarvis has spoken in both private and public capacities, including the Defense Research Institute. He holds an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
